Asti and Moscato d’Asti, DOCs since 1967, obtained their recognition as wines with the appellation of controlled and guaranteed origin in 1993.
Asti is 12% overall minimum proof, 7-9.5% acquired; it shows fine, pesistent froth, brilliant clearness, straw yellow to light golden colour, peculiar, definite, delicate fragrance, aromatic, peculiar, gently sweet, well-balanced flavour.

To better taste Asti, tradition suggests using a goblet, while current trends head towards , as for all other sparkling wines, flutes which allow a greater evaluation of the froth and effervescence, as well as a longer release of the peculiar aroma.

Moscato d’Asti, with a total overall proof of  11%, 5.5-6.5% acquired, shows brilliant clearness,  sort of straw yellow colour, peculiar and fragrant aroma,  sweet, aromatic peculiar  taste, sometimes lively and sparkling.  Moscato d’Asti favor shorter, wider-based stem glass.
